Celebrating $138,000 in Scholarships in Our Foundation’s First Year!

Dear Desert Highlands Members and Contributors,

Thanks to your remarkable generosity and enthusiasm during the Foundation’s inaugural year, the Desert Highlands Foundation is proud to announce that $138,000 in scholarships has been awarded to 20 students for the 2026 academic year. The support from our community has been nothing short of extraordinary, and it has made an immediate and meaningful impact.

Award Distribution

Awards were granted based on each student’s educational path:•    $10,000 for students pursuing four year or graduate degrees•    $4,000 for students enrolled in two year associate programs•    $2,000 for students completing certificate or vocational training

A Remarkable First Year Applicant Pool

This year’s students impressed reviewers with their dedication, resilience, and thoughtful essays. The 2026 recipients represent a wide range of backgrounds, academic paths, and career goals.

Demographic Snapshot

As we reflect on this first year, what stands out most is the exceptional quality of the applicant pool. The Foundation received applications from 14 employees and 6 employee family members, many of whom identify as first generation college students. A majority are balancing full  or part time work while pursuing their education. 

Their academic programs span bachelor’s, graduate, community college, and technical or vocational pathways, and their fields of study include healthcare, education, business, marketing, skilled trades, creative disciplines, and public service oriented careers. Collectively, they reflect the diversity, determination, and community minded spirit that the Foundation seeks to support.
